Amanda and Eric, a fun-loving couple from the Windy City, decided to escape the hustle and bustle of Chicago and elope on the beach in Maui. With dreams of an intimate day, just the two of them, they packed their bags, boarded a plane, and found themselves on the beach. And so, amidst the lush tropical forest, these two lovebirds exchanged their heartfelt vows while capturing their happy and spontaneous personalities to frame forever.
AMANDA AND ERIC’S HISTORY
Amanda and Eric’s love story began with a simple swipe on Tinder in February, right before the pandemic threw the world into chaos. It may have been a wild year, but amongst the uncertainty, these two found comfort in each other’s company. After four incredible dates, something clicked on that third encounter, igniting a flame that burned brighter than anything they had ever experienced. Love had a funny way of showing up when they least expected it. Amanda and Eric couldn’t help but feel that they were perfect for one another.
They were eager to embrace their uniqueness and spontaneity, and a traditional proposal didn’t quite fit the bill. Amanda, having been married before, tossed aside the norm of following conventional marriage steps. As they discussed their future while settling into their new condo, the idea of eloping sparked in their minds, and they ran with it! The spontaneous concept of eloping felt like the perfect way to celebrate their love.

Eric and Amanda radiate playfulness and limitless energy. They’ve never shied away from being “too much” in the eyes of others, but their infectious smiles and contagious laughter always draw compliments. For their special day, they wanted to capture their vibrant personalities and prioritize the joyous moments over a traditional romantic ambiance. With a desire to think outside the box, they were up for any adventure. They made my job as their photographer a breeze.
They started by exchanging their handwritten vows amid a lush, enchanting forest. From there, we headed to DT Fleming Beach Park and Dragon’s Teeth to capture the rest of their stunning photos. Their connection was concrete, their vows touching, and documenting their day felt like second nature. Despite the winds that swept through Kapalua, the couple from Chicago remained unfazed, adding to the already beautiful atmosphere. It was a pleasure to be able to work with them!
