Yulun and Dongqi came to Hawaii looking for something simple and meaningful. Their day started with a first look in the lush rainforest at Honolua Bay and ended with emotional vows and crashing waves at Ironwoods Beach. Everything about it was calm, connected, and beautiful — the way an elopement should feel.
A Day That Felt True to Them
We started with a slow, relaxed morning as they got ready at their hotel in Ka’anapali. From there, we drove north to Honolua Bay, where they shared their first look surrounded by tropical trees and soft forest light. That moment — quiet, raw, just the two of them — set the tone for the rest of the day.
Their ceremony took place on the dramatic cliffs of Ironwoods Beach, one of Maui’s most scenic and peaceful coastal spots. They read personal vows in their native language with the sound of the waves below and the sky glowing behind them. Just real moments, and a whole lot of heart.
